What is Transforming Passion?
The words "transforming passion" speak of a deep desire for real and significant change. This desire underlies the ministries of the 36 Christian Reformed churches and over 12,000 members in the greater Holland area. Together, these churches make up "Classis Holland of the Christian Reformed Church." The Transforming Passion web site is meant to be a resource to help Christians in the greater Holland area work collectively and resourcefully to bring real and significant change to a hurting world.
Mission
Classis Holland of the Christian Reformed Church is a diverse community of Reformed congregations equipping and encouraging the local church and uniting resources to bring the love of Christ to our neighbors.
Vision
As the churches of Classis Holland grow into this mission they will embody the following:
- a fundamental commitment to PRAYER as the means of accessing all of God's blessings
- an aggressive strategy for PLANTING NEW CHURCHES and raising up new ministries
- a demonstrated pattern of GROWTH THROUGH EVANGELISM in established churches
- a BOUNDARY-LESS ENVIRONMENT with other churches within Classis, resulting in an increase of united, collaborative efforts
- a RICH DIVERSITY where people of all ages and ethnicities and worship styles are embraced
- INTENTIONAL LEARNING through mutual sharing and other growth experiences
- a GROWING PARTNERSHIP with the broader evangelical church and communities of which we are a part
